Together we can make the case for the mom side of the story… and “Because we said so!”
Dear Governor Hickenlooper:
I am a Colorado mom who is deeply concerned with air pollution and the effects on our children. Climate change and dangerous levels of greenhouse gases are not good for Colorado’s future.
Increasing air pollution is putting our kids at higher risk for asthma and other lung diseases – that’s why I strongly support the Environmental Protection Agency’s proposed carbon pollution standards for power plants.
These new carbon pollution standards will help to improve the quality of our air for our children and future generations. Colorado is recognized as a trailblazer in finding practical solutions to air pollution problems – so we are well positioned to continue to lead in clean energy innovation and cost-effective renewable energy to reduce our carbon emissions.
I’m not willing to sacrifice the health of our children in order for energy producers to make a few extra bucks. As a father, I’m sure you agree that the energy industry should take on their fair share of responsibility to protect our kids’ health.
We have proven in CO that families and industry can come together and collaborate on reducing air pollution. Now it’s time to take one more step to improve air quality and combat climate change.
As concerned moms, we must fight to keep dangerous pollutants out of the air so our children can breathe easy and they will enjoy a better, stable and safe future. I call on you take the lead on finding a solution with Colorado families in mind.
