Jen Clanahan – Head Mom

244103_10150231194688576_7232352_oA fourth generation Coloradan, Jen grew up exploring the Rocky Mountains and feels most at home anywhere she can smell pine trees.  Her first camping trip as a kid with her family was a formative event.  It later inspired her first backpacking trip, in Mt. Zirkel Wilderness, which led to a passion for spending time outdoors. Her husband, Charlie, who understood her love of wilderness, proposed to her in another Colorado wilderness area, Mt. Evans Wilderness area.

Now Jen, Charlie, their daughter, and dog Josie enjoy spending time camping and exploring wild places.

Even though Jen’s love of nature inspired many years of working on conservation issues – serving on conservation organizations boards and Governor Bill Ritter’s Colorado Wildlife Habitat Stamp Committee – once her daughter was born it became even more important to Jen to protect Colorado’s air, water and land. As our population grows, it’s for the next generation.

Jen is looking forward to working with other parents concerned about their children’s health and their future.  Colorado Moms Knows Best provides the perfect opportunity to do just that.
